Reading & District Philatelic Society

Welcome!

Reading & District Philatelic Society was founded in 1929 and is one of the oldest philatelic societies in the UK. We meet at 7.15 for 7.45 pm twice monthly (except August) on Friday evenings at St Michael's Church Hall, Routh Lane, The Meadway, Tilehurst, Reading RG30 4JY.

Membership is open to all types of collector from novices to the advanced and the society caters for a wide range of philatelic interests. Our members collect Great Britain, Commonwealth, Foreign, Postal History, Cinderellas and a wide range of Thematic subjects. Click here if you would like a Membership Application Form.

New members are always welcome; please feel free to come along to any meeting with no obligation to join.

Meetings normally take the form of a short introduction followed by a talk by a guest speaker or a display by members on a particular area of collecting, with a (free) tea/coffee break at half time. Please see our programme for the wide range of subjects covered.

Subscriptions are just £7 per annum (with a £1 discount for prompt payment) which enables members to attend all of the Society meetings and to buy/sell stamps at competitive prices from the circulating packet and auctions.

We hold three auctions each year. These are also open to non-members on payment of a small temporary membership fee. The next auction is for postal bidding only and closes on Sunday 13^th June 2021. To see a list of unsold lots from the previous February auction, click HERE.

St Michael's Church Hall is conveniently located on The Meadway in Tilehurst with parking
